WHY SHIPPING LINES USE MECRC’S SERVICE

Containers are sorted and segregated to ‘Serviceable’ or ‘Unserviceable’ condition. Upgrade of containers can also be done to exporter’s special requirements.

Drive-thru Washing – containers are cleaned while on the trailer, re-inspected, and sent to port in a Serviceable condition in a timely manner – eliminating the cost of lifting, shifting and storage for the Shipping Line.

Drive-thru Repairs – for damaged containers that require repairs, work can be completed while you are waiting, after which the container can be immediately used – eliminating equipment downtime.

In the event that the container is damaged due to cargo, we can repair the container on the account of responsible party. Avoiding unnecessary delay in returning the container back to the terminal.

We guarantee best turnaround time for maintenance and repair of containers. All repairs are done in accordance with the Institute of International Container Lessors (IICL) Repair Standards.

Our workshops operate around the clock, to avoid repair delays, and we provide container inspections 24 hours a day, seven days a week.

CONTAINER INSPECTION

We conduct inspections for Dry Van, Open Top, and Reefer containers of all sizes and Flat Racks prior releasing and returning which provides assurance that the container will meet all the set safety and quality requirements.

The Convention for Safe Containers (CSC) Goal is to facilitate the international transport of containers by providing uniform international safety regulations, equally applicable to all modes of surface transport.

These uniform safety regulations enable maintaining high level of safety of human life in the transport and handling of containers by providing generally acceptable test procedures and related strength requirements.

Our 24/7-operational, fast and cost efficient fast-track inspection procedure is streamlined to provide your equipment smooth, and accurate inspection experience conducted by our trained and IICL6 certified (Institute of international Container Lessors) Inspectors while your container remains on the trailer.

To further enhancing your experience we recommend you to pre-book your inspection through our MECRC ChatBot in WhatsApp 800MECRC (80063272). Pre-booking your inspection will have your container being inspected on the dedicated inspection lane quickening the process even further without any added fees.

REPAIRS

Our 24/7-operational, trained, and certified team of container repairers provides you repair services for Dry Van, Open Top, and Reefer containers of all sizes and Flat Racks ranging from structural repairs to carpentry works while following IICL 5 Industry Standards on the repair methods and practices.

For ensuring best repair quality, all raw materials and parts being used, such as Corten steel plates, TCT (Timber Component Treatment) container floorboards are sourced from vendors who are following industry standards in material and production quality. For improving eco-efficiency and for reducing waste generation, these raw materials are fabricated into container parts by our in-house team. All generated repair waste is segregated and recycled for reducing environmental impacts.

Our team is proficient on making full refurbishment to your equipment including blasting and painting of the unit and we can help you for designing and fabricating modified, purpose-built containers to your needs.

Container Cleaning

Service when and where Required

CLEANING

We offer all types of cleaning ranging from high-pressure washing, steam cleaning to detergent washing and in most severe cases of contamination (tar or bitumen removal) up to special cleaning.

We can offer UV-C light treatment which is effective for destroying DNA of 99.9% microorganisms, such as viruses and bacteria which are invisible to human eyes. This treatment is especially effective when used for disinfecting reefer containers, however, it can also be used for neutralizing odour in all types of containers.

As containers are used worldwide for shipping goods, it’s important that between each shipment the container is cleaned in order minimize the spread of diseases from one geographical location to another.

Our trained, 24/7 operations provides efficient, economical, and environmentally-friendly services and products in line with the IICL Standard and shipping line’s recommendations while your container remains on the trailer.

All generated wastewater is collected and treated in our in-house water treatment plant and is recycled for further municipality use.

Our high pressure washing is optimal for easily removable residues and contamination while steam cleaning is intended to be used for containers which have more demanding cleaning requirements such as oil stains. In more severe cases of contamination and odour, we use eco-friendly detergent washing. Containers requiring bitumen removal will be specially treated by using removing agents designed for the purpose.

REEFER

We are an authorized service and warranty repair centre for major reefer machinery manufacturers (Carrier, Starcool, Daikin, Thermo King, Klinge). We utilize the latest technologies for inspecting and troubleshooting reefer machineries as well as retrieving historical data from the units.

  • All reefer containers nominated for exports must pass through Pre-Trip Inspection (PTI) for ensuring that the unit is clean and in good operational condition.
  • Software updates can be carried out while container remains on the trailer during structural inspection or if the container is nominated for PTI.
  • We maintain a wide-range spare parts inventory for all manufacturers for avoiding need of cross-stuffing and for generally faster repair turnaround times.
  • Signs of contaminated or corroded panels can be neutralized with passivation treatment in line with IICL Reefer Technical Bulletins 008 and 009 (RTB 008 and 009) and industry practices.
  • The growth of bacteria and pathogens that cause spoilage and unpleasant odours in reefer containers can be prevented through UV-C light treatment, which will inactivate microorganisms such as bacteria, viruses, and fungi.
  • 24/7 Service Van is available equipped with the necessary tools for easy and fast troubleshooting.
  • Container Tracking device can be installed in our drive-thru facility within an hour, eliminating unnecessary handling cost. – (copy to Container Repair)

GENERATOR SETS

We are offering eco-friendly Genset units on short and long term leases to ensure an unbroken cold-chain for temperature-sensitive products during your road transportation within UAE and internationally. Some of our models are equipped with Global Positioning Systems (GPS) for tracking of your goods.

You can easily book a Genset by using our Chatbot 800-MECRC (80063272) or directly from our depot. Our In-house Maintenance Team can support you in case your own Genset unit requires maintenance or repairs.

If your container is unable reach to our facility, we will bring our Mobile Workshop to your site. Our Mobile Workshop is equipped with:

  • Carrier Generator to run a reefer container while performing troubleshooting, repairs, and PTI
  • Fully equipped with spare parts for reefer repairs.
  • High pressure water wash system for exterior and interior cleaning.
  • For Dry Van repairs; Gas cutting torch to cut open any container and removing of jammed twist lock.
  • Welding machine for Mig and Tig.
  • Fabrication shop with pre-fabricated rails and side panel.
  • Carpenter shop with whole and pre-cut plywood sheet.
  • Open top repairs such as tarpaulin patching, TIR cord, eyelets, and hooks repairs.

At MECRC, ensuring the structural integrity of containers is a top priority. A critical part of our inspection process involves examining the understructure of containers. Typically, containers are transported on a skeleton trailer, allowing easy visibility of any understructure damage during transit. However, there are instances where truckers deliver containers on a flatbed trailer. In these cases, we employ a specialized Lifting Inspection procedure to conduct a thorough examination.

In our Lifting Inspection area, containers are carefully lifted and placed on a trestle. This setup allows our inspectors to have full access to the understructure, ensuring a detailed and comprehensive inspection. This process is essential not only for identifying visible damage but also for measuring any potential bending of cross members. By lifting the container, we can accurately determine if the bending exceeds tolerance levels, ensuring compliance with safety and operational standards.

Whenever a container is received for inspection, and the inspector suspects understructure damage, lifting the container becomes a crucial step. This meticulous inspection process helps us maintain the highest standards of safety and reliability for our containers, ensuring they are fit for continued use and transportation.
